Introduction
What This Covers
Mechanics, levels, one setup, sizing, risk, habits, and review — in the order that actually works.
Who It's For
Starting from zero. No prior options experience assumed.
1. Build The Foundation
Core Mechanics
0DTE
An option expiring the same day you buy it. No overnight risk — it resolves by the close.
Theta
Time decay. Every minute a 0DTE option exists, it loses value — even if the price doesn't move.
Delta
How much an option's price moves per $1 move in the underlying. Higher delta = more sensitivity.
Premium
The price of the option contract itself — what you actually pay to enter the trade.
Leverage
Why a $0.50 SPY move can mean a 15-20% option gain. You're buying leverage, not the stock itself.
ATM vs OTM
ATM = the strike closest to current price. OTM = one strike beyond it — usually the better cost-to-reaction tradeoff for 0DTE.
2. Learn How SPY Moves
Key Concepts
Whole Dollar Levels
Round-number prices ($750, $755) where order clustering creates a higher-probability reaction zone.
PDH / PDL
Previous Day High / Low — yesterday's session extremes, marked as today's reaction zones.
PMH / PML
Previous Market High / Low — the high/low of the prior extended-hours session.
First 30 Minutes
The most volatile window of the session. Highest volume, sharpest moves — most of the edge lives here.
RSI ↔ Price Relationship
RSI above 70 at resistance, or below 30 at support, confirms momentum is actually exhausted at that level.
Why Round Numbers Work
1
Order clustering
2
Institutional algos
3
Retail psychology

3. Master One Setup
Entry Mechanics
Watch a Mapped Level
Wait for price to actually reach a level you marked pre-market — never anticipate, never chase.
1-Strike OTM
One strike beyond the current price. The sweet spot for premium cost vs. reaction.
The Conviction Stack
1
First touch?
2
Speed into the level?
3
RSI confirmation?
All 3 align → graded A or higher → full size. Exact grading criteria are in the full system.
From A Real Session
SPY rises $3.30 into $750 — whole dollar resistance, first touch today. RSI hits 72 on arrival. All 3 checks align. Buy the $749P (1-strike OTM). SPY drops to $749.20. +20%. Out in 7 minutes.
A Member's Words
"Rejected $737, RSI approached 70, did a $736 put 1 OTM." — AirTreu88
4. Position Sizing & Risk
Non-Negotiables
Bracket Order (OCO)
A take-profit and stop-loss set simultaneously the moment you're filled. "One Cancels the Other."
Start With 1 Contract
Learn execution first, not profit. Protect the account before you scale size.
Never Add To Losers
A losing position never gets bigger. Ever. Under any circumstances.
Daily Loss Limit
A pre-defined point where you stop trading for the day, decided before the session starts.
5. Trade Small & Document
The First 20 Trades
$100-200 Max Size
Real money, small enough to learn how you actually respond to losing it.
Real Money, Not Paper
Paper trading teaches you almost nothing — you can't feel a loss that isn't real.
Journal Every Trade
Log the level, the entry, the exit, and what you'd do differently — every single trade.
Track What You'd Fix
The pattern in your losses tells you exactly what to work on next.
6. Build The Habits
What Keeps You In The Game
Hard Stop 8:15am PST
Close the platform. Physically. Volume thins and theta accelerates after this point.
Break After Every Loss
Mandatory. Decision quality after a loss is measurably worse — every time.
Never Chase a Miss
A missed entry is a $0 day. A chased entry is a losing day. One of those is fine.
Same Size, Always
Not bigger because you're confident. Not smaller because you're scared. Same size, always.
7. Review & Refine
Every Friday
What setups did I follow correctly — and what did I skip?
The 90-Day Timeline
1
1-30: learning the rules
2
31-60: building the habit
3
61-90: the habit trades for you
